Sparky-(Admin) 21,060 #1 Posted November 28, 2012 Picked up a 310-8 tonight with a 37" SD deck and a 42" plow. It also has electric lift instead of the manual lift lever. Can anyone tell me about it? Never seen an electric lift setup before. Is it dependable? Does it lift/lower fast? What are the weight limits? Pro's and cons? Mike..........
Rock farmer 41 #2 Posted November 29, 2012 I can't say about a wheel horse electric lift. But I have one on a simplicity. And you wouldn't know the difference. The electric lift is just simpler, it's on or it's off. They work at about the same speed. And seem to have about the same strength. Joe

Mike wants to know how fast or slow the lift is and what its limitations are as far as picking stuff up... all you said is they work at the same speed and have the same strength---As What????? Rollerman 290 #4 Posted November 29, 2012 Slow, slow, slow.... Had a 417-8 Mike with the E lift, it's beats pulling on the lift lever, but they are not as fast as hydraulic or mechanical lift. Powerwise an E lift is pretty compareable to the hydraulic lifts. For raising a deck up & down for mowing, even snowblowing they work good. For plowing, waiting on the E lift is gonna slow you down. They have a built in overload clutch, you should here a clicking noise if you max one out or hold your toggle switch one way or the other to long. Thats something to watch for too...make sure the toggle switch that activates the lift doesn't stick. You won't here the slip clucth banging away in the actuator over the sound of the Kohler. Sparky-(Admin) 21,060 #5 Posted November 29, 2012 Can I expect no "fade", meaning an attachment left up will still be up next time I go to move the machine? One of my hydraulic lift machines in the past would loose pressure and the attachment would have lowered after a few weeks of non-use. Mike..........

No an electric actuator will not bleed down like a hydraulic lift cylinder.
Docwheelhorse 2,647 #7 Posted November 29, 2012 MIke... others will chime in if Im wrong but I believe it is a worm drive type setup so wherever the motor stops is where the attachment stays..... it cannot creep up or down as the worm drive prevents it. Rock farmer 41 #8 Posted November 29, 2012 Doc wheelhorse, I'm just saying after using both I'd don't see a real difference. My WH electro 12 or my ford LGT 125 with Hydrolic lift or my electric lift On my Simplicity 3416H seem to fiction about the same. Maybe on some applications, I might prefer one or the other, but, I think I feel they function about the same. I do prefer a hydro or electric lift over a mechanical lift.
