UK Suburban questions

I have just bought this Suburban here in UK and needed to ask a few questions

1. Where can i get axle seals ?

2. Did the suburban s ever come with solid type seat ?

3. In a dillema weather or not to restore or keep as is. ?

There's a couple of companies that can supply seals. Swan Bearings or Eriks. Both national companies I think. You'd have to take one of the old seals to them if you can't read the numbers.

As to restoring, that's up to you. Some like things kept as is. Me, I'd restore.

Hi Neil, Glad to see you postin , so presume you/your house at least stayed dry.

Well done on yet another scoop of another 'Subby' (wish I knew how you find 'em).

I presume your Tranny is a 5010?, if so, the part nbrs for the Seals are-

Toro 1234 superceded by 83-2830 (2 off)

Toro 1257 .. by 83-2840. (2 off)

Should be able to get them from a Toro dealer. If not search for the equivilent CR 7627 & CR 9835. (try simplybearings).

As for the resto bit. I would clean it up and see what you have first. Maybe paint the wheels.

Yep, toro has the axle seals and there about 20 bucks each. Some of the 60's did have solid seats I believe. I would restore it, but it is a nice tractor either way. Good luck with it! :handgestures-thumbup:

Hey Neil..

Nice burban u got there.. give it a good clean up and take it from there..

But u have a Round hood's that is in original shape so why not make a queen??
