Mikez655 6 #1 Posted November 25, 2012 Hello all I am having some problems with my 18 hp opposed twin Briggs. It's on a craftsman tractor that I use to plow my driveway in the winter. I've been having some fuel pump issues I recently replaced the walbro pump that quit on me for a mikuni that I picked up at a local swap meet. The mikuni has been good except for after a while of running it seems to get clogged? After it does this I pull off the fuel line leading to the pump and a little amount of gas drips out. Then I replace it,start it and it runs great again with good fuel flow. Does anyone know what would cause this? I'm starting to think maybe the fuel pump is too small to supply all that fuel to the twin Briggs. I'm not sure of the exact model but its a round plastic style mikuni. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #2 Posted November 25, 2012 Those pumps are more than capable of keeping the bowl full. I would start by checking the tank for proper venting and for any restrictions in the tank, tank outlet, lines, filter, and fuel valve. (if equipped)
