tractorbeast 27 #1 Posted November 25, 2012 I picked up an 1983 K301QS, Kohler engine with dual horizontal shafts. Would someone have an idea about what this engine might have been used for? Pulley setup on the correct side for use in a wheel Horse 1980's C Series. The opposite shaft has a approx. 4" round plate on it with several mounting holes in it. Sorry I didn't get a pic of it yet. It has a lot bigger muffler on it, I'm assuming that's why its a "Quite Model".
tunahead72 2,551 #2 Posted November 25, 2012 Do you have a spec number for this engine?
Don1977 605 #3 Posted November 25, 2012 Tillers used the extra shaft from the cam for reverse as it turns in the ob-sit direction, but I have never seen 12 HP Kohler on a tiller. My guess is that it was used to reverse something.

TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #6 Posted November 25, 2012 It's from a Jacobsen. Later models drove the tractor off the flywheel and the PTO mounted to the PTO end of the crankshaft.
