753 gas leak

Recommended Posts

I've got a puzzle I'm hoping someone can help me out. I put the snowblower on a 753 today and when I started it gas was spraying under the hood. so I replaced the fuel line & still spraying. not sure where its coming from but my best quess is from behind the valve cover. did'nt check to see if theres gas in the oil yet. dry around carb and fuel pump this is between the carb & gov. its a strong spray not a drip or leak. the tractor starts fine & doesnt start to leak right away. I've not had any problems this has came as a total surprise. Thanks for any help

I had the fuel pump leak internally on my 753. Just quickly bypass the pump and gravity feed the carb from the tank. If the squirting goes away, you know where the problem lies. (Won't cost you anything but some fuel line).

BTW...I still have mine gravity fed, and it works w/o a problem...snowthrower and all.

Could your float be sticking, causing gas to flow out of the carb....then the air moving from the flywheel makes it look like it's spraying???
