truckin88 104 #1 Posted November 11, 2012 My dads 520 runs good, starts good cold. But after running if you shut off and go to restart within about 20 minutes of running she will not start.....let it sit for a while she fires right up....she charges fine....issue with carb? JackC 616 #2 Posted November 11, 2012 Could be either the carb, a heat induced electrical problem, or fuel pump. I would check for spark when you try to re-start when hot. If you have spark, then suspect carb or fuel pump. What year is it and what is the spec number on the engine? Some of the newer ones have the emissions carburetor that they recommend replacing rather than cleaning. I would still try to clean it first by dissembling it and soaking it in carburetor cleaner. If I were replacing the carburetor I would find a non emissions carburetor. Others most likely have run into the same problem and will offer advice.
