My C-125

Recommended Posts

Stormin

I acquired my C-125 about a year ago.

The tractor it's self is in pretty good condition for it's age.

The cutter deck was something else though.

So a bit of rebuilding had to be done.

First strip the deck.

bth_001-18.jpg

Deck was used as pattern for new top

bth_005-9.jpg

Then old top cut out.

bth_004-8.jpg

New top welded in and painted.

All re-assembled.

I fitted two new spindles as they got damaged getting them out. Also renewed all the bearings.

Very nice work. Most people would have replaced that deck, but I find its very rewarding rebuilding something that most would have scrapped! My hats off to you.

Nice job, yeah too bad you arn't here in the States I have 4 or 5 of those 36" decks laying around that I just can't quite bring myself to take to the scrap yard even though they are all rotten but not as bad as the one you started with.

Thankyou for your comments.

There was noway I could afford a new deck. About £500 I believe over here for a bare one. SWMBO would not have been happy and discretion is the better part of valour. Cost me just over £100 and a bit of time.
