Electric Pto questions?

Recommended Posts

Have GT14. Pto was on tractor, kinda stuck and wires cut off right at the clutch. Thought I could fix the wires maybe. They did work the magnet with power on them. Got bright idea to diss assemble the clutch to clean up and etc. ONe bearing was kinda stuck, oil did make it move, but still bad. Got scared when I bent center with little effort. Freind of mine took it to press apart and fix it up. Well, pulleys are aluminum and odd he said and it broke up. Think I've seen on here that these are really not able to be rebuilt?? So, they don't come apart and assemble ?? Joes power has just the pulleys for sale on epay. SO, he got it apart, not sure the story tho. Is it worth my effort to look at buying those, or is it a lost venture? I really don't have any attachments for tractor now, cept a blade, so not that big of deal. Wanted to have the option if I should get more things for it. Are the Charger and other electric clutches all the same? Hard to find and expensive? Are there any other options?

I think the electric PTO's are all alike, as long as the PTO bore for mounting on the engine is the same.

If you want you can use a manual clutch from the same era. If you look at the side of the upright the holes are there for the mount. One of my GT14's had a manual one on it.
