just to make it run no wiring other than to the starter is needed, it has a magneto ign. and you only need to ground the small black wire to the coil to kill the engine, or choke it.

I just want to get the ignition wired up. And clean up the jacked up wires.

there is no real wiring to the ign. only a kill wire, and that does not need to be hooked up to run, only to shut it off, it runs like a push mower, but this only needing power to run the starter, when you get it running then you will need to make sure the charging system is working, but if you repower this all the wiring will probably need to be changed depending on the engine you go with.

Thanks Kelly. I hate to ask a lot of questions, but when it comes to smaller equipment, I don't know much. Any way to get the identification on what's what on the back of the key? Thanks again Kelly.

You can download an electrical manual from Toro

https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm

Enter your 01-11B803 model number and use the word none for a serial number.

The wiring for the B-Series is what you have.

Not sure on that engine, the big Briggs I have here they are in a box on the side of the engine like a Kohler, but I know some Briggs they are under the flywheel, and some don't have them they use a magnatron system or something like that.

Thanks Kelly. I got in touch with fourwheels0, and I'm slowly getting pointed in the right direction. There are no points. I found a reputation briggs dealer that helped too. I'm just return to straighten the wiring out. I want to learn enough, so I too can help others here. It's an addiction.

chevyaddict83 here's a pic of the wiring coming from the stator.

there's only 2 wires.

if your engine is original 1 will have a diode on it.

1 is for the charging and the other is for the lighting.

1 of them should have a diode(under the black cover) on it. that's the one for charging.

here's the engine.

mine is an aftermarket engine.

mine did not have the correct stator in it for the lights (no diode).

that's why i had to change the stator to get lights and correct charging.

Ok, I replaced the coil, and put in a new plug.... No spark. Now what? I'm lost.
