Onan crank?

Recommended Posts

Are the crankshafts on the P216 engines interchangeable? For example... I have a 1987, 216 and a 1995, P216. The 87 has a 1 1/8 inch shaft and the 95 has a 1 inch shaft. I want to put the 1 1/8 shaft in the into the 95. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

can you read the spec #'s on both engines that would help tell you if they interchange with the help of a interchange chart. but the easier rout might be to find a 1" pully and clutch of a briggs or 8 hp motor

i pm you call me and i"ll see what i can do to help

Ok, by spec's are you referring to bore/ stroke? And where would I find a interchange chart? I was given a 1 inch pulley with the engine when I bought it but, the diameter of it is much smaller then the pulleys off the engine from the wheel horse. Plus, there are 3 pulleys that are on the old crank. drive, mow, and attachment I guess. The engine I bought came off a miller generator and has the 1 inch non-keyed shaft. So the crank would have to come out to be taken to machine shop to be keyed. I figured if I have to take it out, might as well take the crank I need out of the bad engine and hope it will work in the new one. If it does....my problems are solved...lol! I may need to give you that call in time. Thanks Eric!
