Electronic ignition

Just wondering when Kohler went from points and coil to electronic ignition on the wheehhorse motors.

less cost, much less maintenance and increased reliability - a no brainer

Magnum engines in the mid 80's were the largest migration to magnetos.

Some 70's models had "electronic" ignitions.

A little research and googling can get you additional detail.

When they started with the magnum line of motors I believe ....mid eighties maybe.

my 308 was the first year to use the magnum,its a 86,then in 87 they all were magnums,i think there a few exceptions like the 420,it was a magnum from 86,but for the most it was 87
