Marv 983 #1 Posted October 20, 2012 I see members referring to large frame engines. What is the difference between large frame and "small" frame?
rmaynard 16,343 #2 Posted October 20, 2012 Large footprint engines vs. small footprint. The large footprint is the same as a small footprint as far as the power is concerned. The difference is the oil pan. The smaller pan is used in the tractors that feature a cradle mount. Has nothing to do with the frame.
Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted October 21, 2012 I think Tecumseh is the only engine that uses the term large frame small frame when talking about engines.
midnight rambler 36 #4 Posted October 21, 2012 correction the 1045 is a small frame with a big block kohler in it, try to put a battery in it in the normal 5min like a lager frame tractor.
