chute questions tall vs short

why is a tall chute better than a short. has anyone made a short chute longer i was looking at it the other day and it would be easy to extend but i dont know if it would be worth my time. thanks

It's more about the turning of the chute...the tall chute use a gear type over the cable on the short chute.

The tall shoot funnels the snow and directs it better. Both models do a great job of moving snow.
