B80 Engine Conversion

Recommended Posts

Marv

I am working on refurb of my B80. I plan to install a shock mounted engine on it like the C series with shock mounted engines. The frame will need to be drilled for the shock mount cradle. I need to determine the exact location of the holes to mount the cradle on lthe frame. Maybe someone has done this already and can provide the measurements.

Thanks

Marv

As long as you are doing a 1976 or 1977 B-80, find someone with a C-81 and get the measurements from that. 1974 and 1975 had the shorter frame.

You will also need to get a different PTO set-up, belt cover and belt guides.

Bob,

Mine is a 1977 model. Hadn't thought about the PTO and belt guard. What would be special about the PTO setup?

The hoop that engages the PTO is shorter, and the bottom fits into the cradle. The original hoop was secured to the frame by a bracket attached to the frame.
