rmaynard 16,261 #1 Posted October 16, 2012 Is anyone else bummed about the changes in the SEPW website? I used to love looking up parts there because you could always find the model, see it's attributes, look up the part, cross-reference it to other models, etc. Now all that is gone and I think they are tapped into the Toro website for parts look-up. 64s 83 #8 Posted October 17, 2012 Try ' milaclawn.com '. I think their parts look up is the same, if not, its still pretty good.
rmaynard 16,261 #9 Posted October 17, 2012 Unfortunately, they have gone to the same setup as SEPW.
dodge78 94 #10 Posted October 17, 2012 Not pleased at all. Can not look up old part numbers to see what they fit
CasualObserver 3,410 #11 Posted October 17, 2012 Nobody that I know of is using the old Empart viewer anymore. They've all gone to the new system. Milaca and SEPW were the last holdouts to changing that I know of. Milaca was running both the old and new for a while. I've found I can still cross reference part numbers to other models with the system at http://www.rcpw.com though. I think it's the same system... but their's works properly. Hit the "Parts Lookup" tab in the top menu (in the blue line, right side) Choose a brand and enter a part number in the right half (Quck parts search) find the part in the list and click the "Select model" from that line. rmaynard 16,261 #12 Posted October 17, 2012 Sorry Jason. That one is no better than the others unless you know something that I don't, and I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to figuring out stuff like this.
CasualObserver 3,410 #13 Posted October 17, 2012 Ok, picture time then. Go to http://www.rcpw.com and click Parts Lookup. use the right half of the screen For my example I chose the 4421 stirrup footrest, common to most early-late 60s tractors. Hit the search button. Find the part you're looking for in the list. click the Select Model spot on that line. It will give you the list of all the models that used that part number. (scroll bar on the right of list.) When you click on one, it will give you the parts list / diagram if there is any. This is how you cross-reference parts to other tractor models.
Lane Ranger 11,368 #14 Posted October 17, 2012 I have used it and it works well for me to ID stuff that you can buy from various soruces for your tractors.
SousaKerry 503 #15 Posted October 17, 2012 I had a feeling this was coming when I was at my local dealer was having trouble finding anything even simple parts with the "new" software..... We are in the process of updating our 20-30 year old software at work and I am on one of the integration teams. I can tell you first hand just how painful it is to upgrade your ERP software that manages your entire business and parts inventories in a large corporation. :banghead: Hopefully the teething problems will pass in the near future as they all work out the bugs. rmaynard 16,261 #16 Posted October 17, 2012 I contacted them by phone and they told me that this is as good as it gets. On the bright side though, they are being swamped with calls from irate users.
