Has anyone put a Kohler Commando 25hp V Twin in a 312-8?

Hi Guy's just wondering if any of you have done this swap without having to raise of lengthen a 312's hood..

I'm guess the engine would be a bit too tall to fit under a Raiders hood :D

If anyone can do it, it would be you! Pretty sure you would need to "tweak" the hood in order to stuff a big engine in there! Perhaps another project in the future?

This is a 20hp in a 312-8, size of a 25hp is the same. But you need the flat top air cleaner the tall round one won't fit under

You'll need to make your own mounts but we know you can do it.

Yes it can be done. Used 1/4" steel plate under the engine to mount it. The only thing that wouldnt fit was the plastic air cleaner top but the air filter cleared.

Thanks Guy's, it was just one of those thoughts while looking through Ebay and happened to spot the said engine for sale

I talked myself out of it in the end, then started looking looking for a diesel engine instead... But not for the 312

Anyone know how tall a Kubota D950 is? :D
