118lfd 8 #1 Posted October 6, 2012 Here are the fruits (grass) of all my labor. Well the horse had a lot to do with the labor part. Got my tiller a few weeks ago and after fitting it and adding a newer style lift attachment on it. I tilled my front yard, leveled and graded it with my dozer blade and fertilized then seeded with Kentucky bluegrass and not have the beginnings of a flawless lawn. Can't wait till next year when it will really look good I also used the blade to level and grade for my patio and used it to dig out my crawlspace.. So the horse had a hand in both my new patio and my addition that is at the framing stage now I do not think I could have done so much work without my wheelhorse. AMC RULES 37,202 #2 Posted October 6, 2012 Looks awesome. Do you know the name of those tall, red plants up next to the front windows of your house?
118lfd 8 #3 Posted October 6, 2012 Yes they are Cannas sometimes called canna Lillie's but they are not Lillie's at all. They grow from tubers and can be divided to make new plants. In NJ we have to dig the tubers up every fall so they don't freeze I am overrun with them this year cause the winter was mild and we did not dig all of them up They multiply like wildfire if they get enough water. They are semi tropical and there are many varieties we have green ones too a little work but we get compliments on them and the elephant ears all the time they are worth it. If you want when I dig them up I can ship you some of the tubers to try
