Suburban for sure...but I think a mix. In 1961 they went to the two peice cast iron transmission, pull knobs for throttle/choke, and rounded cast foot boards. It has the 61 foot boards, but the 60 transmission. I am thinking 401 or 400. The hood supports aren't right for the battery to be a 551. (Someone also did some handi work on the hood as well.)

That would be a 61 551, the heavy duty trans was only used in 61, not 60. It should have push pull throttle controls, and 5 1/2 " hp tecumseh with electric start. Looks like a pretty nice tractor :handgestures-thumbup: ~Jake

Thank you guys so much. I was going to put a kohler k91 in it but I think I will just leave it as it is, since it didn't have a kohler to begin with. which leaves me with a k91. it runs decent its just white and it is out of an ariens something. any value in something like that?

Always value in a good running motor but finding the right buyer can be an issue sometimes. It can be repainted and swap out a few parts and no one will ever know that it wasn't a Wheel Horse motor. Once you take off the sheet metal there ain't much difference.

Put it up here on the classifieds I'm sure some-one will make good use of it.
