groundhog47 347 #1 Posted September 14, 2012 Have seen several of the 8" front wheels installed with the cone looking hub side on the outside. Do different models have the inside and outside the same. My c-120 has a flatter ?outside? and cone with longer bearing surface than other ?inside?. The valve stem is located toward the frame like the back wheels. Haven't tried reversing mine and hub covers fit on wheel and look like 90% of others. Anglo Traction 761 #2 Posted September 14, 2012 Not quite clear about your point, but there is a difference between say- a 1974 C-120 Front Wheel and a 1977 version. The Part numbers are different and the Offset is greater on the '77' giving a wider Track and a deeper dish outside. Here is a link to my Thread which shows the difference (post #9). As for reversing them, I suspect the Rim would foul the Spindle housing on the Axle . regards
can whlvr 994 #3 Posted September 15, 2012 most of the rims i have the grease zerk is on the inside
groundhog47 347 #4 Posted September 17, 2012 Thanks to you both, my wheels are like Anglo... but a lot shabbier, Also my grease zerks are what is inside along with valve stem. I've seen several resto's on here just the opposite though. Mine was sold to me as a 1976 in 1981 and have never tried or changed wheel orientation. Thanks again and Good Day
Rooster 192 #5 Posted September 17, 2012 Like Anglo stated, some wheels have an offset which dictates which way they go on. If they don't, many times they are mounted with the valve stem on boards to protect it.
