ple1969 1 #1 Posted September 13, 2012 Hi - new member here. I've scored a mid 90's 520H and going to pick it up this weekend. I have a F150 and was thinking on using ramps to load it in the bed. My ramps hold 500 lbs each so I think I'll be o.k. but I'm curious to how much it weighs just to be safe. pete
CRE1992 135 #2 Posted September 13, 2012 You will be fine. I think it weighs about 780lbs and a deck is 150-200 lbs. Normally ramps are under rated to protect the manufacturer in case of one breaking.
tiggercl 28 #3 Posted September 13, 2012 664 lbs / 302 kgs approx without a mowing deck. BTW does anyone know the weight of a 60" mowing deck? Cheers, Paul
Pollack Pete 2,273 #4 Posted September 13, 2012 Do like I do.When the capacity of the ramps is in question, run the tractor up real fast.Just kidding. The ramps should be fine.I'd take the tailgate off the pick-up though.I'm not sure of the capacity of those crappy little tailgate cables. CRE1992 135 #5 Posted September 13, 2012 The 60" deck weighs approximately 325 lbs. I had a 520H with a 60" deck. Lifting the deck up in the air by yourself is not fun.
ple1969 1 #6 Posted September 13, 2012 Thanks guys. It also has a 42" RD deck. Anyone know the weight on that?
Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted September 13, 2012 I agree remove the tail gate, I've loaded a few tractors in customers trucks, and told them to do so, and they say it will be ok I've done this hundreds of times, just before the cables break and the gate hits the bumper and the tractor looks like it is going to jump off the truck, so far none have but a few dented gates and broken cables. And the fab style 60" deck is all of 300lbs it is all to men want to carry very far. RD deck I'd say 150 tops
