Mid 70's Ariens S-16 front PTO shaft unit

Recommended Posts

TT

Looking for information leading to the capture of a good used front PTO shaft assembly for one of those weird-looking Ariens (or New Holland) garden tractors from the mid 70's.

This is a belt-driven shaft mounted in a housing that runs either the mower deck or snowblower.

I'm guessing that they might be hard to find in good condition because of the squirrely design, but I thought I'd ask anyhow. B)

Perry -- are you hiding any of these animals out there??????

That's the bad part, Perry.....

The guy brought a bearing and a broken mounting flange here yesterday, but nothing else. I looked in the book and saw nothing resembling those parts. It was then that I realized that the flange he brought up is home made. B)

The tractor isn't too far away, so I might have to go look at it to see what kind of "mess" it has.

Here's an IPL drawing of the entire PTO unit:

The ebay seller formerly known as "atbiggs" in South Dakota!

Nice thing about it is that it will fit in a flat rate box and ship for $10. (even though the assembly cost $100! -- good thing I don't have to pay for it. B) )
