glgrumpy 35 #1 Posted September 9, 2012 Working on GT 14 now, but most models have these bushings used on small shafts thru the tunnels . They are a small, very thin flanged bushing, Part # 7879. Most automatics have them on the park brake links. Not sure why they were used, always just crumbling apart when tearing down. Most in stores will fit shaft, but need bigger hole in housings, which I'm not willing to drill for sure till I can't find right part. Found them at parts tree, but $12 a Piece?? Might have to get if that is all that is offered. Anyone have a source or change to diff part?
Trouty56 567 #2 Posted September 9, 2012 I drill the hole bigger to 5/8 inch....then use a 1/2 X 5/8 in flanged bushing (I think it is referred to as a bearing) from Fastenal. I have never found a 1/2 X 9/16 bushing, however, I thought about getting 3/8 X 9/16 and drilling the bushing out to 1/2......
Ole MN 11 #3 Posted September 10, 2012 I found them at http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-plastic-thrust-bearings/=j8jdab
SousaKerry 503 #4 Posted September 11, 2012 I make my own but yeah check with your local bearing house, and drilling a smaller one out works well but holding the darn thing without crushing it can be the big problem.
