414-8 New to me, all my Horses were older.

This was a gift, construction firm had the Horse 'n dozer sittin' around.

Knowing I was sick with "Horsey Disease", sent it to me. A freebie.

What year(s) were these built?

Found this serial number, I.D. 3114K803 27881

Don't know how to post image, but, did add to my gallery.

I just removed the mower deck, serial number is illegible (?). A guess?

Engine serial number is also illegible. Another guess?

No battery, yet. I checked rear and engine oil levels, topped off the Kohler just a bit.

Also removed spark plug, added a little oil there too. No idea when this WH last ran but,

doesn't appear to be in bad condition (other than neglect).

Turned the engine over with a speed wrench via the flywheel. Been doin' that all day.

Tankman, according to my notes yours falls into the range of a 1984. I am sure guys with more knowledge will advise. I have a 1986 model w/ a Kohler Magnum 14. Good strong tractor.

I prefer Kohler myself, my two 12 hp Kohler's are strong too.

Where might I find a manual for the '85 414-8 tractor? I looked on the Yahoo groups but, without success.

Might be a 1988 model, serial number listed on the attachment listing (*.pdf) in the files section.

And the mower deck? No clue as to the assembly (deck) number/model.

Three blade, side discharge.

Not runnin' yet but, I like it already!

Sold my '07 Cub Cadet, was an SLT 1550, 25 hp Kohler, 50" side discharge. Just didn't fill the bill.

if the deck is from 1988,the model number will be D5-42s01,a little earlier would be 05-42s01,if you want to see parts break downs go to www.partstree.com,go in toro home owner,and you will see all the categories like mower deck assemblys,tractors,snow throwers etc

How does one add images to a post?

In the bottom left corner when creating a post, there should be a paper clip image with a choose files box next to it. when you click that box it will open a" windows explorer" window . there you should be able to find your pics.

And, here's the delivery trailer, 414 and dozer. Onsite green "Slime" fixed the two rear flat tires.

Not in great shape but, workin' on the old Stallion.
