krazy_horse 59 #1 Posted September 3, 2012 Cutting grass friday I noticed my very quite B-80 was sounding louder than normal. The pipe is splitting at the bend.I am looking in the NAPA Out door power catalog and see a replacement for a Gravely #7-03679. Will this work on the 8 horse and will it be quiter than the can mufflers from the big box store.? Thanks for your in put.
ol550 830 #2 Posted September 3, 2012 Have the Gravely muffler on a GT-14 and a 8 hp Kohler on my regular mower. Quieter than the pepper pot style. Mounted mine verticle with a turn down to direct the exhaust fumes away. With a little fabbing I am sure it could be mounted in front also.
Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted September 3, 2012 I think I have a goodB-80 muffler if you want stock, send me a PM and I can check stock.
squonk 43,899 #4 Posted September 3, 2012 That Gravely muffler isn't any louder than the stock Nelson muffler IMHO. My neighbor has a 14 HP gravely with it and it's the same as my C-160 as far as noise. I've got an old gravely muffler I'm using to mockup a stack for my Kohler powered Power King. I am going to buy a new one when every thing is fabbed up. Not cheap. Near $50.00 :hide:
