Clarkbug 0 #1 Posted September 1, 2012 Hello All! Yeah, I know its a little early for snowplow talk, but I actually got some time this weekend and some floor space to play with my WH. I bought the C-120 a few years ago, and the plow came with it. Never hooked it up then, and have just started playing with it, thinking ahead for this winter. Not a big deal to get it hooked up, but now I have an issue. With the plow raised up, I cant actually push my brake pedal down at all. There is definitely some interference. Im not sure if its due to the bracket on the plow being bent, or if the plow isnt the right one for my tractor. I have scoured the plow and frame, and there are no numbers on it anywhere, so I cant find anything to use as a reference. Can anyone offer any input? I would like to get it figured out before its less fun to tinker outside. Much thanks!
varosd 1,185 #2 Posted September 1, 2012 my handle has bend in it and a cut out for manual trannys like my B-80...autos wont be an issue. can you post a picture of the whole handle. perhaps instead of a OEM handle someone just used a piece of straight metal. other folks more knowledgeable will chime in.!!! I'm already thinking about Winter too! I want to try that scraper bar and snowthrower skids made of UHMW stuff. just sealed the driveway today!
Clarkbug 0 #3 Posted September 1, 2012 Ill charge the camera back up and try to snap another shot. The issue is that its not just the handle that appears to be in the way, but also the bracket that it mounts to. If you look in the second photo, you can see where the brake pedal is almost right up against it. I really dont want to think about winter, I still have so many summer projects to take care of! varosd 1,185 #4 Posted September 1, 2012 Clarkbug, See how my handle has a right angle bend to clear the brake pedal? and hard to see the cutout but it's just above the bend. I remeber that you can flip the handle around, but can't remember for which application
KC9KAS 4,744 #5 Posted September 1, 2012 I just rebuilt a snow plow for my GT-14. It was missing the angle lever all together. I got a piece of flat stock steel, heated and bent it so it would not interfer with the floor-board. After painting everything it looks like new, and works great. squonk 44,140 #6 Posted September 1, 2012 I ad basically the same issue with my C-160 until I got a blade with the arm Don has.
Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted September 1, 2012 The arm/handle you have is for a older tractor that had the combo clutch brake pedal on the left side of the tractor, you need the newer style handle like the ones posted above, the basic plow is the same for all long frame tractors, just change the handle. Clarkbug 0 #8 Posted September 2, 2012 Much thanks to all for the quick reply and for the helpful photos! Now I see whats going on...... My thought is really just to remove the handle entirely, and just fix the blade angle, or rig up another way to change it should I feel the need. Thoughts on this idea? Kelly 1,033 #9 Posted September 2, 2012 Bend the handle you have and cut a notch in to it, like the one you need, you will have to make the control wire shorter but not a big deal if you can modify the handle
