brandon32269 2 #1 Posted August 28, 2012 I just bought my first Wheel Horse. Its an A100. Im pretty sure the starter is just done after so many years. I am having trouble finding Wheel Horse parts and in particular a starter. Any help would be appreciated.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted August 28, 2012 :WRS: The A-100 isn't a popular model like the bigger garden tractor line, but they're out there. If you ask for specific parts, you might get more help. The electric starter was supplied by the engine manufacturer. If the engine in your tractor is original, you need a Briggs & Stratton part 392749 ~ which has superseded to 497595. sorekiwi 761 #7 Posted August 29, 2012 It may be worth popping your one open and having a look inside. I dragged home a really straight A100 from the scrapyard which had a dead starter. All that was wrong with it was the magnets had become unglued from the case. A little JB Weld and it worked fine.

brandon32269 2 #9 Posted August 29, 2012 I took it apart. All looks good. I got a new 280 cranking amp battery for it because when I tested it, it said it only had 46 cranking amps. That still isn't the problem with the starter. I'm just going to order a new starter.
