Help with ID'ing this horse

For $400.00 I couldn't pass this up, and it's every bit as nice as the pics show. Still has the Wheel horse script tires.The gentelman I got it from new only that it was a Wheel Horse w/16hp Kohler...... 48" Mower and plow avalable in two weeks for an additional $100.00.

I'm not sure but is this a C161 or C160?

I had a late 70's C160, and the hyd. lift lever was like that one on yours, with a height indicator on the left side. The stripes were a lot different and the headlights were in the hood like C models of that time. A great find it looks in very nice condition, and a good price to boot. Mower deck and plow to add to it for another $100.00 is a smokin deal.

Yes, both front and rear lights are non-Wheel Horse. The decal is not correct either. Looks like a nice find though. Get the deck and plow.

Like Bob said, C-161 1978-79 vintage looks well cared for. I would work on the muffler placement so it doesnt burn up the hood paint.

Yup, redirect the muffler and a new set of decals. The lights stay for now.

Yea, he was real happy to sell it. He even met me half way. He's off on a cruize next week. Didn't have room in my truck today so I just took the tractor. I'll be going back down in two weeks (hopefully) and retrieve the rest.

That machine is a great candidate for a stack from the exhaust.

the fast way to tell is the shaker plate for the motor,78-79 models ,prior was solid mount engine
