(according to the 3/4" snap ring description on the owner's manual in the how to put it together area) I'll stop by HF this afternoon to see if the wheels are approx the same width. jwicker 9 #31 Posted September 5, 2012 We are going to blast the rear wheels to see what condition they are in. That will decide a lot. If they are salvageable, then I found a local Nanco set for $65 ea. I think we'll go with the (ugly) China front specials from Harbor Freight for $40 for both wheels and tires. We can always upgrade. The gas tank is nearly spotless inside (whew). (that part worries me) Also the drive pulley seal is shot and is leaking badly. I priced the NAPA seal at just over $9. (I hope it drives in from the outside of the tranny case) The hood is going to take some beatings and welds to whip it back into shape (literally). Also - the tranny seems to only "work" in 1 gear. All others feel the same as neutral (not good). I worry a lot about that part ! - - Somebody assure me it's an easy fix ! Aside from missing the oem heat shield ( make shift sheet metal alternative bolted right to the hood), all belt guards and the kill switch..... ha I'll try to post some picts tomorrow... far too late for me tonight. evanloock 217 #37 Posted September 5, 2012 The leather boot was only used on the earliest of RJ's as was the squared off clutch link.....preserve the boot, they are few and far between. Someone said having the original seat and cover guards over the rear tires is rare? Have not run it for many, many years...there is still compression in the motor though...
