LDPosse 2 #1 Posted August 26, 2012 I have been kicking around the idea of trying to use my 211-5SB 30" and my 211-5 37" mowers to try to make a little money, mowing part time. Most of the yards in my area are in the .25 to 1 acre range. I know they aren't as fast as a commercial zero turn, but these machines are simple, rugged, and inexpensive to repair and maintain. The tight turning radius (for a lawn tractor) should minimize the amount of time spend running a push mower. Interested to hear other folk's opinions on this one. Thanks! rmaynard 16,349 #2 Posted August 26, 2012 My opinion is that these lawn tractors were not made for commercial use. However, if you wanted to do a few lawns other than yours, they may last a couple of seasons. Just remember that they are 24 years old and things are going to break. Parts may not always be available. When people hire a lawn service, they don't care what is being used to cut their grass, they only care that it is being done neatly and on time. Be sure you have backup if your mowers breakdown.
