Ed Kennell 41,655 #1 Posted August 23, 2012 .Set up my 90-1140 tranny for testing similar to squonks set-up on his post "way to flush a trans and hyd lift". The tranny just lost power in my 16 auto, so I replaced it with a 90-2046 from my Charger 12 parts horse. The tranny seems to operate OK forward and reverse. My question is with both axles locked with the yellow torque bars, if I put a scales under one bar , what torque should a good tranny develop ???
pfrederi 18,598 #2 Posted August 23, 2012 I am not aware of any torque development specs. I would suggest you do a charge pump pressure test (see the sundstrand manual) Should get 70-150 psi. Is this a hydro gear or piston to piston ( I can't see the motor head in the picture to tell)?
Ed Kennell 41,655 #3 Posted August 23, 2012 I think it's a hydro gear. Did the pressure test. I only get 50PSI at all speeds forward and reverse and neutral. I'll go to the manual for next step. Tks, Ed
