welderman85 53 #1 Posted August 20, 2012 I have a baker chipper with a very tired 5hp Briggs on it. I was looking at it the other day and was wondering if anyone has every tried to make a mount and run one like this with a PTO. I will try to get a pic of it up later but its made by simplicity I think and looks like the earthquake ones at tsc. Thanks

KC9KAS 4,744 #5 Posted August 20, 2012 Good luck with your chipper mod.....I have a chipper with a Tecky and it needs carb work. I have thought about powering this with one of my Horses. Oh, and an orderly garage is the sign of a sick mind....I just thought that up!
tommyg 154 #6 Posted August 21, 2012 I'd be interested in seeing the result. That's kind of one of my goals for my D180 down the road. I do remember seeing one somewhere here on Red Square. Front mounted.

tommyg 154 #8 Posted August 22, 2012 Here's a link to mine. It's Mackissic I found on CL. Yep, that's the one I saw! Nice job by the way. If anyone has attempted a hook up on the rear of a D using the PTO and perhaps the 3pt I'd be interested in seeing some pics.

cheesegrader 433 #10 Posted August 31, 2012 I just spent a few days using my MacKissic. Making a mount to attach to the front end and lining it up with the PTO should not be too hard. Be sure to add a clutch mechanism in case something jams the hammers, or you will melt your drive belt and possibly do harm to your engine. Don't ask how I learned this valuable lesson.... welderman85 53 #11 Posted September 1, 2012 good idea on the clutch. how could i set one up. any ideas? thanks
cheesegrader 433 #12 Posted September 2, 2012 Mine is belt driven. The clutch is integrated into the pulley that attaches to the drive shaft on the chipper. THey are still available directly from Mackissic.
