I have a B-100 and have the same problem.

someone had tried to weld it back up and it broke again, so now that I have the machine im going to use a nickle rod to weld it up.

this should help prevent any further cracking or breaking B)

TT

There are way too many good used lower steering supports floating around to even justify trying to weld a broken one.

You aren't afraid of ebay are you? If someone on here doesn't have one you can buy, you can find them on there pretty cheap.

Norm..... great job, and that's a good lookin' C!

Definitely a lot more room to work on that one than the 312 I just fixed. B)

I've had a few look like that, and seen some welded, but like TT said easier to change it, and at that time, put some anti seize on the lower shaft where it is not greaseable, and I get 3/4" shim washers from TSC and take up the slop in the steering to help the gears mesh better.

I should have some around somewhere, but unlike TT, I WOULD have to do some looking.. throw in the fact they are in a now somewhat less than convenient location and the time to find one would expand into days......
