dschmucker68 0 #1 Posted August 10, 2012 Hi, I bought this wheel horse today and am trying to figure out what model it is. It has NO tags on the motor or tractor. The ID tag on the pedistal looks like it was cut and painted over or something. The only numbers I can see is 6129. The motor is obviously a Kohler but again the ID tag is missing as well. Anyone have ANY idea how I go about finding out what I have. I mean it kinda looks close to an old B-100 I had but the hood stickers are different. And it also has the 8 speed too. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
Sparky-(Admin) 23,269 #2 Posted August 10, 2012 Does it have the flip up rear fender pan? I think the last year for those was 75 but not positive. If the pan is not a flip up style its no newer than 1977. The motor is at least a 10hp so its a B-100, C-100, C120 or a C-160. Mike.........
dschmucker68 0 #3 Posted August 10, 2012 No it does not have the flip up rear fender pan. Is there any way to tell the difference between a C and a D? I tell ya , its hard when all the tags are missing lol. Thanks Mike
1maidenfan 202 #4 Posted August 10, 2012 Its DEFINATLY NOT a D series tractor! D's are much larger than this tractor. Like Sparky-(Admin) posted , it does look like a c-100 I had but mine had the flip up rear fender with tool storage under it. So posiibly a B-100.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,512 #5 Posted August 10, 2012 If 6129 is the build date it is the 129th day of 1976 making it May 8, 1976 which should be a 1976 model. I don't think the B-Series had a dip stick tube on the engine. Garry
Shuboxlover 481 #6 Posted August 10, 2012 How many head bolts are there?
dschmucker68 0 #7 Posted August 10, 2012 There are 10 head bolts
Road-Track 39 #8 Posted August 11, 2012 This is your lucky day! If you have 10 head bolts you have a 16hp Kolher engine. Think C160. Very desirable. :WRS:
