Hammerhead 817 #2 Posted August 5, 2012 I have a couple bits of info on the front hood weights. I have a 1955 Hang Tag that came with the purchase of your new 1955 Ride Away Jr. This tag they hung on the tractor in the show room. It also has the Warranty Card that you tore off and sent back to the WH Co. to register your machine so you could get the work done on it under warranty. It mentions the 65 lb. front hood weight. Also has a set of 20 lb. each, rear wheel weights. One strange and seldom seen option for 1955 was an electric starter with battery! Never seen one yet. I have seen the electric starters that you plugged into an 110 volt electric outlet from your house. Also on another 1955 Brochure, it mentions the same front weight at 65 lbs but no Part Number is given. I also have a 1955 mini foldout brochure that says there's a 60 lb front end weight and 60 lb. per set rear wheel weights. On the cover of this little brochure, it clearly shows the electric starter model with the battery under the hood! Wow, I never noticed the battery there before! The electric starter is bolted to a Kohler engine. Keith
