coldone 35 #1 Posted August 1, 2012 This deck came with my D160. Its in pretty sad shape but still mows well. I have patched a few areas and I am moving on to the spindles to see if can replace the pullies and one shaft. There are no ID plates or tags anywhere on the deck. It is 48 inch cut side discharge. JamesBe1 84 #2 Posted August 1, 2012 I am in the same boat. I got a 48 SD deck with no tags. I found a manual for a 48 SD deck for the listed attachment for a D-180 from Toro, and it listed the old double-D pulleys. I have 3/4" keyed pulleys on my deck, and almost bought the wrong expensive pulleys before I found that the part numbers listed in the manual weren't what I had. I ended up going to the yahoo group and looking through every manual they had for a 48 SD to see what pulley part numbers were listed. I am now trying to determine the specs for those part numbers, and I am pretty sure that the newer part numbers are for the appropriate pulleys that I need. As far as spindles go, I hope to be able to get one of the bearings out intact enough to be able to read the part number off of it and order new ones. Hopefully out of six bearings, one should be readable. I don't know if there is a way to ID the spindles to determine the part numbers. If you find a way, I'd like to know. Not sure if it is really necessary as the spindle housing doesn't realy do much besides hold the shaft and bearings. If you like, I can send you the seven or eight manuals that I got off the groups, hopefully one of them will give you something to go on.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,489 #6 Posted August 3, 2012 Added to the "Mower decks & reel" folder named Chart Mower Rotary Spindle ID 1969-89 Clicking on a model number should take you to a page with the original spindle assembly used on that deck and any replacement assemblies. Garry On this site? I can't find it. I did a word search on 'Spindle', and didn't come up with any files even close to that. Is it in the yahoo groups? Which group, and can download it from there. j
