maxed500 10 #1 Posted July 27, 2012 Hope I'm not mistaken, but the 500 series wh's have a vacuum guage on them?. I was reading "Golf Course Maintence" magazine and ran across an article regarding using a vacuum guage to diagnose engine issues. The source information for the article was How to Use and Interpret a Vacuum Gauge very intersting read, with animations showing different engine issues in relation to the actions on the vacuum guage. Those are at the bottom of the web page.
Martin 2,133 #2 Posted July 27, 2012 good article...... i found the vacuum gauge particularly useful for idle mixtures, not so much these days with modern automotive engines, but back when i used to mess around with a lot of carb fed car engines, it helped to get a little better idle mixture out of a bad idling engine. also there was a few engines that i had that were either twin or triple carb and although sometimes difficult to get a constant reading, it helped to get a better idle in conjunction with 'listening' to each carb.... brought back some memories.....
