Will my K181S work on my 551?

Hey guys,

I have someone interested in purchasing my K181S with electric motor start, not starter generator. I don't want to sell the motor if it will work on my 551.

Please let me know. He is coming in the morning.

I would say no with out cutting the hood, my 400 has a 4 k91 and its 11 1/2" and my k181 is 13" tall. Unless you cut the hood it will not fit. Please don't do that!

Thanks for the prompt and informative response.

I won't cut the hood. Instead, I'll take the money I get from the sale of the K181S and get the old Tecumseh running.

I never thought anyone would have a ligitimate reason to trade a Kohler to resurrect a Tecumseh, but this is one
