Snowthrower interchangability...?

Wondering if anyone can help with some information here. I have an 85 314 and I'm looking at a snowthrower attachment on craigslist that came off of an early 90's 200 series. Looking at the interchangability list, I believe that the snowthrower would be model number 06-42SS01. For my 314 the list shows 06-42ST04. They should both be 42" and the 06-42SS01 looks like it is an attach-a-matic so I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it would still work for my 314 or not, or if there would be something that would prevent me from attaching it right up. with out seeing I would say no it won't work...the 200 series tractors are vertical shaft engine tractors...I have known guys to switch or modify them to work but it won't be a direct fit..

I agree with Mike. It will not be a simple "hook up and go" blower. You will need to do some fabricating to get it to work.

Keep searching and maybe try a wanted ad in our classified section here.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I probably want to avoid having to do fab work. I got excited about it because it was a tall chute and was in good shape and reasonably priced. I'll keep searching!

If it is cheap it will have all the parts to make a older short shoot blower a tall shoot.

He's asking $200 so not giving it away, but it does look to be in really good shape. I have a short chute blower that I bought on the cheap that pretty much needs a full restore. Are any of the other parts interchangable? Sprockets, auger, things like that?

Most other parts will not fit, not worth the price for the few parts you could use, but is a good price if you could use the blower.
