Need to know what type of snowplow to put on my tractor

Recommended Posts

johnk

I have a 1960 suburban 400. A guy I know has a snowplow model#DR385, serial# 196287 and I am not sure if it made for my tractor. I have not seen the plow yet, will it work on my suburban?

Thanks!

BDR-385 is a 38" blade sold 1965-67 for the Lawn Rangers. 196287 looks like a 1966 serial number.

Find the file of implements for Horse's here: www.mytractorforum.com/images/reference/WHinterchange.pdf

I once downloaded their whinterchange *.pdf but, deleted pages I didn't require. I just downloaded the

complete file again for my growing Wheel Horse library.

Looks like the BD-4261 (42" dozer blade) fits your machine.

Purchased a bare blade sometime ago and made the "A" frame and some brackets to lift, angle, mount

to the older Horse' rear. Worked excellent.

Kept two 2" x 8" x 96" boards to back the tractor onto the floor in my garage.

Rear chains didn't sit in pools of water, didn't rust as fast. Backed in, on the boards, lowered the blade

onto the boards too.

Your Suburban 400 needs an HD-42 or BD-4261. (same blade, just changed model numbers between 1960 and 61)

Mounts and looks like this.
