glgrumpy 35 #1 Posted July 18, 2012 Tore down B-80 with manual pto clutch. The crank has something sticking out of it on end, in it's threads. I was thinking first it was just some stuck bolt that someone has cobbled up trying to remove it or using a puller that broke in it or etc. Now, I see some on epay from same model and they look like they may have that in them. It does have kind of a machined surface around it. Does some part of the clutch ride on that? If so, guess I'll be more careful with the new one I'm getting. I really don't believe the old crank I have with cobbled part is ever gonna come out. There is a screwdriver slot in it, but no driver is gonna budge that beast. The threads that are still showing don't look too good either, so bet the rest are a mess too. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
bowtiebutler956 650 #2 Posted July 18, 2012 Grumpy, I'm pretty sure there is'nt supposed to be any thing in the threads on the PTO side of the crank. I know there is nothing in mine. The clutch is held on via the pulley on the crank. I'm sure someone here will set me straight if there were some models that had something in there, but i doubt it. rmaynard 16,343 #3 Posted July 18, 2012 Look at the parts diagram for the B-80 PTO. That part is a 7/16 fine thread stud that holds 2 washers, 1 thrust bearing and a spring in place. All of those parts are used to assist the PTO in returning to the outward position and pressing it against the brake pad. Many times the stud will become stuck. I would soak it in PB Blaster and use a Vise-Grip wrench to try to remove it. A new stud 104842 is still available from Toro. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
