squonk 39,278 #1 Posted July 9, 2012 The RJ-59 I just got has no throttle cable. The lever on the hood is there. I'm trying to rig up a cable just so I can drive it. I'm not worried about factory correct at the moment. I don't see a hole in the governor arm to attach a cable. There is a hole in the throttle lever but it seems to me if you hook a cable to the throttle it would defeat the governor. I'm sure the motor is not original, but its a 4 HP Kohler K91 engine. Any body got a pic of the cable and how it attaches?
rydogg 186 #2 Posted July 9, 2012 Sorry no picture at the moment but if you need a throttle cable and lever search ebay for troy bilt throttle they look the same as the original throttle you will just need to shorten the cable to the correct lenght.
squonk 39,278 #3 Posted July 9, 2012 I have the lever and cable, I just need to know how it connects to the engine. I see no hole in the governor linkage except the one that has the rod that connects to the throttle lever.

rydogg 186 #5 Posted July 10, 2012 This is how it's hooked up on my rj58. I'm not sure that it's correct. That is how my kohler powered tractors are hooked up I believe it is correct they run as they should.
