Wheel Horse Fan 3 #1 Posted July 9, 2012 I bought the FEL in May of 2010 from Wallfish and finally used it for the first time this weekend. It was a little more work than I originally anticipated (aren't all projects like that). I had to replace the arms as they were all bent up. So it's not a completely orginal 550. The uprights, pistons, control and hard lines are all original though. I had the cyclinders rebuilt, they work prefectly. The bucket is a swisher bucket that is typically used on an ATV. There were 3 or 4 layers of paint on there and one of the colors was red, so it's possible it was on a Wheel Horse at one other point. I think the original color was an orange, unless that was a primer. Here are some photos that I took. I'd like to see some photos of other FEL front brackets on the C/300/400/500. I 'm not sure mine is up to the task and I have some ideas to strengthen it, but would like to see what others have done. I did put 480lbs on it and it was ok, but I want to weight test it to 600 just to be on the safe side. Thanks

JamesBe1 84 #5 Posted July 9, 2012 Nice setup. There are some pics of my FEL on my D-180 in my gallery. If you would like a more detailed pic, let me know and I will be happy to take it. I like the bucket. Wherever did you come across one like that? I think I might be inclined to try a smaller bucket on mine since mine has seen better days and will need replacing/repair soon. Thanx, James
Wheel Horse Fan 3 #6 Posted July 9, 2012 I like the bucket. Wherever did you come across one like that? I think I might be inclined to try a smaller bucket on mine since mine has seen better days and will need replacing/repair soon. Thanx, James Thanks, I'll let you know about the pictures. I was wondering if other C series guys used the quick attach. It's a swisher bucket for an ATV (Swisher Universal ATV Dump Bucket, 44 in). I got it from Tractor Supply. There are some slightly used ones out there but I didn't find anything that was close enough to me. It's a good size for most of the heavier materials. I am going to add something to it for moving mulch. I ha to relocate the attachment points as they weren't wide enough. The bucket is reinforced in all the right areas so it should last awhile. I think it would be hard to have one built for the price I paid.

Wheel Horse Fan 3 #8 Posted July 10, 2012 IT"S ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!! LOL It looks MUCH better now, nice job! I thought those arms would just bend back into shape and the cross member would need replacing??????? Glad to see you got it going. What front brackets do you need pics for? It's about time is right. Too many other projects that took priority unfortunely. We also had a son in Octobor of 2010 so he took away most of my extra time. The arms were in bad shape. I started to take them apart and fix them but it was just too much work and not worth it. The front bracket that the upright supports attach to. I have it connected to the attach-a-matic right now.
