bowtiebutler956 649 #4 Posted July 4, 2012 :scared-eek: Wooow!! Thats a very cool toy! You can call it whatever you want to call it, I'm just glad you posted pics. When I was a very young boy, my dad had a tank, and I can still remember telling the kids at school " My daddy has a tank" , and having them call me a liar. You should have seen their jaws drop, when they came to my house one day, and we took a ride in it. Matt :flags-texas:

shallowwatersailor 3,213 #13 Posted July 11, 2012 My father was assigned to a half-track during WWII (3rd Armored Division.) He was a corporal and in charge of the vehicle. One day they were being shelled by the enemy when he was the last taking cover underneath. He was wounded by shrapnel with a piece lodging in his back. When he passed in 1992, my siblings and I each took a remembrance of his military service. I received the piece of shrapnel that the doctors removed and he had saved all of those years. It always impresses my students when I get on the topic of family histories and I show them this piece of my family's history. Amazingly he at times drove the half-track during the war, but never drove a car back home. My mother was the family's driver. He navigated! John
