hbrooks49 12 #1 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi, After comparing older Wheel Horse and Cub Cadet models I decided on a Wheel Horse for my first riding mower.. the design seemed to lend itself more to do it yourself repairs. I bought a used C-105 with 42 inch rear discharge deck and virtually unused 42 inch snowthrower, weights and chains. Have mowed the lawn a few times, figured out disconnecting and reconnecting the deck, learning about height adjustments, etc.. All in all it reminds me of the Model "A" Ford I had when I was a kid .... not too much can go wrong that you can't jury rig good enough to get it back to the barn. Lurking on these pages for the past couple of months has provided me with a lot of information, both basic and advanced in regards to these machines. Not sure when I will turn from user to hobbyist but I imagine it will happen. Right now I find myself with way too many things to do and not nearly enough time to do them (retired last year - less free time than I had when I was working, believe it or not). Just stop I'd drop in and say "hi" before I posted a question ..... looking forward to eventually going to the "big show" (not too far from the Hershey car show site - last time I was there was in the 70's). It has some rough spots (seat, peeling paint on plastic pan, wiring mods working around safety switches) but it's in remarkable shape for a 30 year old unit and I don't plan to restore it - just repairs as necessary and leave the patina as=is.
