Fordiesel69 271 #3 Posted July 2, 2012 Open side goes toward the crank pin (inside the engine). The oil splash will lubricate the bearing. You can also remove the oil covers from the brearings and the shaft seals will take care of the rest. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
