gsinal 1 #1 Posted June 26, 2012 lookig at a wheel horse 310-8 notices smaller wheels on the tractor. is this a sign that they are not made as strong as the 400 series. any info on the tractor. has a 10 hp kohlor magnum runs good has no deck and needs a seat. they want $200 for the tractor. any advice. would like to have it to cut some grass around he house and take some of the load off my 520hc high in hours. any advice would be appriciated. Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted June 26, 2012 They run 5" rims on the front and some I've seen some have the smaller 22x7.5x12 rears but if you want bigger standard tires and wheels will fit right on it, to make it set level you will need the correct front spindles, and for the price it sounds like a deal to me. bean 85 #4 Posted June 26, 2012 I also have a 310-8. the 6" wheels are solely for clearance for the 37" deck. you can easily swap 8" wheels onto the front. I run a 42" deck and there is plenty of clearance for 8" wheels Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

boovuc 1,090 #6 Posted June 27, 2012 Hi Gsinal, I have 300, 400 and 500 series tractors and there are big differences in comfort and a few diff's in "beefyness" but all in all, your 310-8 Speed can do almost anything a 400 and 500 series can do. Keep in mind the 10HP magnum on the 300 series shouldn't turn a 48" mower though some here do. (36" and 42" are fine). I wouldn't use an FEL on it either. I have a gentleman less than a mile away that uses his 310 to till a very large garden and I have used mine with the snowblower and the plow. I probably use my 310 more than the other machines overall. Great fuel economy, fits in tight places and I can get it over a footbridge at my camp with the 36" deck. I have ag tires on it and on a hard surface, it really bounces where the 400 and 500 series with the "comfy" seats absorb most of that. Each series has their advantages but the 300 series will do almost everything the bigger boys do for less bucks when they were new. If that magnum is good, 200 bucks even without a deck is a good price. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
