Tire Question

Recommended Posts

jbumgarner

I've had my tractors in storage for the past 8 months due to a move, and soon I will be getting into my new house. Then I will start the tear down on my 702. As I look at others pics to find what I want to do with it, I see some with wide tires on the rear. I don't want duels, but the wider tires make the tractors look beefier. Can someone tell me what size tires they are running and if the wheels were bought wide or do they widen them. Any suggestions or pic of your beefy set up would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Most use a 23X10.50 tire for that.

You will most likely want a wider wheel than stock.

I think most guys are using an 8" wide wheel off of the newer tractors.

Here is a pic of 23x10.5x12 on my one C-160.

The rims are 8.5 wide & when I got them they had Craftsman tires on them. You can get wheel blanks & centers from M.E. Miller Tire. Then you can weld the centers in to get the off set that you need.

I also put 7.50 wide tires on the front instead of 6.50 wide.

I don't have any rear shots right now but here is a round hood with 23x10.5 tires on 8.5 wide rims, I'm pretty sure they are Cub wheels and for this tractor the backspacing was perfect.
