Agage1 83 #1 Posted June 21, 2012 Is there any tiller attachments that can fit the 310-8, or any that could be modified to fit. And what kind of power would I need to run one? I have a kohler k241 10 hp. I'm starting the rebuild and machine work this week, I can get more power out of it if it's needed to run the tiller
420-LSE 0 #2 Posted June 21, 2012 There is a tiller that will fit a 310-8. All attachments for 300,400 & 500 series are interchangeable with a couple of exceptions. Wheelhorse might have a recommended hp for the tiller but 10hp should do it since you wont be using any power to drive the machine. There is a tiller for sale cheap in the classifieds now and you can see one in action on a Raider 10 on YouTube.
IthacaJeff 151 #3 Posted June 21, 2012 I've got a tiller on my 310-8, but the 10 hp is not quite enough to till deep in my clayey soil. I put a limiting strap on my tiller to avoid tilling too deep, and need to make a lot of passes. Jeff
dennist 139 #4 Posted June 21, 2012 I have a tiller on a 310-8 and it has always done my garden with no problem....I have other tractors with more HP that I could put the tiller on, but there is no need to use the extra gas to do the same job.
Sparky-(Admin) 22,742 #5 Posted June 21, 2012 I dont have a tiller but whether the ten HP is enough may depend on what your tilling it sounds like. Maybe tilling a virgin garden spot would be tough but I bet an established garden would be a snap with ten HP. Mike.........
Agage1 83 #6 Posted June 21, 2012 its an existing garden but its big. my 310-8 is an '86', does toro make a tiller attatchment for that or do i got to find a used one somewhere.
Sparky-(Admin) 22,742 #7 Posted June 21, 2012 You might find an old Wheel Horse/ TORO dealer with one kicking around but I doubt it. Plus it would be huge money! I would look around for a used one at a fraction of the new price. I'm sure there will be a few for sale at the Wheel Horse show this weekend in Penn. Why not take aride to the show and see whats there? I think one of our Redsquare members even has one advertised in our classified section and he says he's going to the show with it. Mike..... Lane Ranger 11,211 #9 Posted July 18, 2012 Don: Do you have a photo of the hookup for your tiller on this tractor you can send me? I see a spring assist and a bar coming down to the tiller with a chain on the side. I am torn between using a B-100 and a C-121 as a dedicated tractor to the tiller. I have the manuals and some of the different assembly guidance documents but I am always interested in how people make it better thatn the original ! can whlvr 994 #10 Posted July 19, 2012 i dont have a pic right now lane, but the spring attaches to the top of one of the axle bracket bolts, the other end goes to the bracket(bar with a 90 degree bend on the end with a hole driller in it,a threaded eye bolt goes through the hole on the end of the flat bar,the spring hooks to the eye bolt, then you tighten up the eye bolt to put tension on the spring,i asumme its factory because im the second owner and it was only used a few times,if you need i will do it no problem for you,but later in the week cause wifey has camera and shes away for a couple of days, but i have her hooked up right now and can get a shot of it for people to see
