SAM58 30 #2 Posted June 18, 2012 Don't try to adjust, I think that the Onan carbs have plugs over the adjustment screws the 520's need a carbuator cleaning from time to time... Mine has 380 hours on it, and it started to surge this spring when I got it out. Read here about taking the top of the carb off and cleaning out with carb cleaner, blowing out the jets and that fixed my problem.
TheReDStAnG 4 #3 Posted June 19, 2012 :text-yeahthat: .Most Onan's have a low speed fuel adjustment at the base of the carb, which is right behind the muffler. Adjusting that is usually the last resort. Having three of them, sometimes you can get lucky and just use a can of carb cleaner with the straw and spray into the passages in the throat of the carb. This sometimes dislodges whatever plugs them up. Good Luck
