kloe0699 12 #1 Posted June 15, 2012 My neighbors Craftsman finally bit the dust! He called me today on his cell phone all jacked up about a 416-8 he found on the side of the road. He knows nothing about wheel horses other than mine do alot of work that he couldn't do with his tractor. He found a beauty! Comes with a tall chute single stage also. I was in the area, kinda, so I met him there. The guy isn't exactly giving it away though. He is a homeowner that only mows probably 3/4's of an acre and I clean his driveway up in the winter in 15 minutes tops. This machine will last him forever. I hope he pulls the trigger! I would love to have an Onan to play with. Hopefully I will have more pics to follow. This thing is very clean!
bowtiebutler956 650 #2 Posted June 15, 2012 Its a beauty! I hope he gets it too, especially with a buddy like you to show him the ropes. Matt :flags-texas:
MarkPalmer 81 #3 Posted June 15, 2012 Looks like that one was very well maintained and kept clean, which are the ones worth spending a little more on. With the regular maintenance done, I've seen many un-rebuilt Onan Performers in Deere 318's and 316's at over 1500 hours still running strong, they are excellent engines. Expensive to fix now, so stressing the maintenance is a must if this fellow buys the tractor. -Mark-
WH520 17 #4 Posted June 15, 2012 If you were a good neighbor you'd help him out on buying it! Looks like a good find for sure! How many hours are on it? I'd say how well my Onan runs and how many hours it has but in fear of jinxing myself, I'm not going to.
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #5 Posted June 15, 2012 That does look like a well kept Horse. Man, he must be living right to find that WheelHorse on the side of the road. And if he's not, then he better start!

kloe0699 12 #10 Posted June 16, 2012 I don't know if I am going to drag this one home for him or not.. The guy won't budge a bit on his price. It has 542 hours on it. He's stuck on $1600.. I was thinking in the 1200-1400 range. The good news is that he is going to buy a wheel horse either way. It is a really nice machine.. Do I give him the green light or do you guys think there are better deals than this?
varosd 1,185 #11 Posted June 16, 2012 All about how much you want to spend but it seems a bit steep in price even with the snowthrower. now if it was the 2 stage....
Foozerush 40 #12 Posted June 16, 2012 Tell your neighbor to be patient, I think it's over priced a tad, if seller is in a crunch and needs the money, he will take what he can get, but keep looking to keep your options open...
